ADMIRALTY
MARSHALL IN CHARGE
1985 ended with the Communicator anchored in the River Stour off Erwarton,
where she could be seen from the North bank. A new captain had been placed
on board along with the old crew and the ship was under the control of the
Admiralty Marshall. All of the five most recent disc jockeys had returned
to the United States.
Offshore Echo's no. 59 for December 1985, thanked all the Laser staff and
said that "European radio will be a very sad place without you all, you
rekindled the spirit of free radio and reawakened interest as well as
giving much enjoyment and pleasure to many millions"
